Reporting to the Estimating Team Lead, an Estimator is responsible for determining projects costs including supplies, materials, labour and preparing reports to support the determined data.
Responsibilities
- Estimate costs of construction projects for construction projects and single family homes
- Reading blueprints and interpreting information accurately
- Preparing and completing take offs from blueprints and projects specifications for new and existing models
- Creating purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner as per production time line
- Monitor and manage job change orders, and communicate changes to the appropriate parties
- Maintain awareness on building codes, regulations changes, and construction techniques
- Maintain base model and optional assemblies
- Assist to preparing job specifications, and keep updated when required
- Review costs of materials and labour on an ongoing basis
- Prepare and post budgets to required parties
- Develop a strong relationship with our trade partners
- Provide excellent customer service internally and externally
- Demonstrate ability to resolve construction concerns in a team environment
- Additional tasks as required
Education and Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience as an Estimator or in a similar role
- Construction Engineer Technology Diploma, preferred
- Experience with BuildPro, Homefront and Microsoft Suite
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Strong mathematical skills with an aptitude for problem solving
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
