Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day physical upkeep of our building, handling suite turnovers, performing preventative maintenance on facility infrastructure, and providing excellent service to our resident community.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
· Suite Turnovers: Perform drywall repairs, painting, basic plumbing (clogs, fixtures), and minor electrical work (switches, lighting) to prepare vacant suites for new residents.
· Amenity Maintenance: Manage the daily chemical balancing, cleaning, and safety testing of our indoor swimming pool and fitness center.
· Facility & Grounds Care: Ensure common areas, laundry facilities, and the outdoor terraces are clean, operational, and safe. Assist with light seasonal outdoor clearing when necessary.
· Preventative Inspections: Complete routine checks on HVAC, mechanical rooms, fire safety equipment, and lighting systems to identify and resolve issues proactively.
· Emergency Response: Participate in a rotating, on-call schedule to handle after-hours building or resident emergencies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Experience: Minimum 3–4 years of experience in residential property maintenance, commercial facility care, or a related trade.
· Certifications: Certified Pool Operator (CPO or level 1) designation or willingness to obtain one quickly is highly preferred.
· First Aid & CPR/AED (Level C)
· A 5th Class Power Engineer certificate (major asset.)
· Building Maintenance Level 1 or 2 from AARFP (major asset.)
Technical Skills:
· Strong handy-person skill set across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and drywall.
· Communication: Excellent verbal English skills to interact professionally with adult residents and corporate management.
· Reliability: Ability to pass a criminal background check, work independently without constant supervision, and lift up to 50 lbs.
