The Role:
The role of the Sous Chef is straightforward – to support the Head Chef and manage a successful kitchen with strong leadership, creativity and excellent communication skills. We strive to hire and develop a great team that gives guests a superb experience every time!
What You'll Need:
- 1 to 3 years of hands on experience as a Pub Chef specifically within a Pub environment
- At least 1 year of management experience ideally within a Pub environment
- A Diploma or Degree in Culinary Studies is a definite asset
- Ability to bring creativity and passion to Pub cuisine
- Effective problem solver, multi-tasker and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Track record of strong leadership in supervising and coaching staff
- Proficient at communicating clearly with managers, kitchen staff and dining staff
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- Able to work in a standing position for up to 5 hours and work 50+ hours per week
- Safely lift, move, and manoeuvre objects of up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
- Food Handler Certificate
- First Aid Certificate is preferred
- Health and Safety Level 1 & 2 certifications an asset
