The Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, promoting, and executing RED Mountain Resort's year-round calendar of events. Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing, this role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences that enhance the RED brand, increase visitation, support revenue generation, and strengthen community engagement.
This position combines event strategy with hands-on execution and requires an organized, collaborative individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously while working effectively with internal departments, sponsors, volunteers, community partners, and third-party event organizers.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
- Coordinate and execute RED's year-round event calendar, including winter, summer, bike park, community, and staff events.
- Assist in developing new events that align with RED's strategic objectives and brand.
- Lead event logistics from planning through post-event evaluation.
- Collaborate with internal departments, community partners, tourism organizations, and sponsors, to clearly define event operating plans.
- Coordinate venue setup, registration, signage, equipment, and event infrastructure.
- Organize event volunteers, staffing requirements, and day-of-event operations.
- Ensure all waivers, permits, insurance requirements, and sanctioning body requirements are completed.
- Lead pre-event meetings and post-event debriefs.
Marketing & Promotion
Working alongside the Marketing team, the Events Coordinator will:
- Develop event marketing briefs and promotional timelines.
- Curate content for website updates, event listings, email campaigns, and social posts.
- Assist with media hosting and sponsor activation.
Partnerships & Sponsorship
- Coordinate sponsor deliverables and event activations.
- Maintain relationships with community organizations and tourism partners.
- Support the acquisition of sponsorships for signature events.
- Serve as the primary liaison for approved third-party event organizers.
Budget & Administration
- Assist in preparing annual event budgets.
- Track event revenues and expenses.
- Process invoices and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare post-event reports including attendance, financial performance, guest feedback, and recommendations.
- Maintain the annual event calendar.
Volunteer Program
- Recruit, train, schedule, and recognize event volunteers.
- Maintain volunteer communications throughout the season.
Experience & Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Degree in Event Management, Tourism, Recreation, Marketing, Business, or related field.
Experience
- 3+ years coordinating events.
- Experience in tourism, recreation, festivals, or mountain resorts preferred.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Budget tracking experience.
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Experience working with sponsors and community partners.

- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Advanced skier or snowboarder.
- Mountain bike experience is considered a strong asset.
Salary Range
- $55,000 - $65,000 annually.
