The Operations Manager leads R&B’s day-to-day locating operations and is accountable for service delivery, estimating, client relationships, sales growth and the safe execution of all field work. The role suits an experienced damage-prevention professional who can run the operation hands-on today while building the systems and staff to scale it
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily field operations across southern Ontario — scheduling, dispatch, and resource allocation — ensuring on-time delivery and consistent quality.
- Drive business development and revenue growth – sales
- Optimize SUE Level B & A investigation workflows to ASCE 38-02, maintaining PEO standards and ORCGA DPT competency requirements across all field work.
- Manage and coordinate Private Locates
- Prepare quotes and estimates across the full SUE B and SUE A lifecycle; manage proposals and joint-bid partnerships through to award. Formulates all costs for tender submission – labour, equipment, material, rentals, and subcontracts.
- Work with Auto Cad and ability to navigate and work with plans
- Maintain and coordinate work with Subcontractors and finding pricing from suppliers and Subcontractors
- Manage client relationships oral and written across utility providers, developers, municipalities, and homeowners — owning scope, deliverables, and satisfaction.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop field staff; manage performance and build capacity as the team grows.
- Lead digital transformation of utility mapping and documentation to improve turnaround and accuracy. Analyzes documents, drawings, specifications, proposals, and addendums in preparation for pricing.
- Maintain quality assurance, safety, and regulatory compliance; provide operational and financial reporting to ownership.
Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
