Kingsway Living is seeking a General Manager to provide visionary leadership at our Lewisporte location. You will work with a dedicated team and must be committed to providing excellence in resident care. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the community with a primary focus on creating an atmosphere where residents can enjoy a quality of life which exceeds their expectations.

Responsibilities:
- Builds leads and maintains a strong team.
- Develops employees: coaches, manages performance and identifies opportunities for succession planning.
- Values and fosters a positive work culture.
- Administers, coordinates, and directs all activities of the residence, including the management of human, (personnel) physical (property) and financial resources ensuring effectiveness of operational activities.
- Maintains responsibility for the well-being of residents as a priority.
- Oversees all aspects of operations to ensure programs and the property consistently meet company expectations, including: personal care, food service, recreation, maintenance and housekeeping departments.
- Monitors key performance indicators to ensure quality of services.
- Maintains confidentiality and accurate financial, personnel and resident data.
- Completes financial analysis and provides related reports in a timely manner.
- Complies with all reporting standards as per Personal Care Home Standards, GNL.
- Holds the team accountable for delivering exceptional resident experience and satisfaction.
- Meets with residents/families to resolve problems, address concerns and review suggestions for quality improvement.
- Develops, fosters and maintains positive community partnerships with municipalities, service organizations businesses and health service providers to promote Kingsway Living as a valued contributor to the community.
- Manages the retirement community in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Partners with Newfoundland Labrador Health Services - Central Zone and Government Service NL ensuring compliance with all standards.
- Refers and adheres to all policies and procedures as they are in effect.
- Manages annual operational budgets and monitors actual performance.
- Meets occupancy targets, drives the sales process within the residence and respond to occupancy challenges
- Maintains a performance driven team with a focus on: customer service, employee engagement and occupational health and safety standards.
- Actively looks for ways to market and promote the company.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications or Skills Required:
- Has a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in the seniors housing, hospitality or general management profession
- Experience in a progressively responsible role where they have demonstrated leadership, interpersonal skills, marketing, financial planning and effective problem solving
- Graduate of certificate/diploma or degree in Business, Hospitality or Nursing is an asset, combined with proven judgement, leadership abilities and supervisory capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills; both oral and written
- Ability to relate to all levels of staff, the residents, and their families with a high degree of patience, compassion and confidentiality.
