Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Site Superintendent to lead our Concrete, Asphalt, Landscape, and Hardscape Division. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in residential and commercial landscaping and concrete work, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. This role is responsible for coordinating and overseeing on-site activities, managing crews, and ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operations of concrete, asphalt, earthworks, landscape, and hardscape projects.
- Lead and manage a crew of laborers and equipment operators, providing training and mentorship.
- Interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications to ensure work is completed as designed.
- Oversee site layout, grading, forming, pouring, and finishing of concrete.
- Direct installation of hardscape features such as retaining walls, pavers, patios, walkways, and water features.
- Manage softscape tasks including planting, sod installation, mulching, and soil preparation.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate material deliveries and inspect materials for quality and accuracy.
- Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and office staff to provide updates and resolve issues.
- Monitor work progress and document site activities, daily reports, and timesheets.
- Maintain project schedules and help meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues as they arise on site.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience supervising crews in concrete, asphalt, landscaping, and/or hardscaping.
- Strong knowledge of concrete forming, pouring, and finishing techniques.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt base prep, laying, proper elevations/slopes and compaction techniques
- Familiarity with landscape and hardscape installation methods and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and landscape plans.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Clean drivers abstract (3 year is required)
- Leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor when needed.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and experience enforcing them on site.
Preferred Assets:
- Experience operating small machinery (bobcat, mini-excavator, etc.)
- First Aid, WHMIS, and CSTS certifications
