Overview
The Education Assistant Inclusive Learning Support plays a vital role in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This position involves working closely with classroom teachers, students, and families to promote academic success, social-emotional development, and independence. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, experience working with children, and a commitment to supporting students with disabilities or special needs. Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations for students with disabilities
- Support students during classroom activities, including instruction, social interactions, and transitions
- Use effective communication skills to engage with students, including those who use American Sign Language or other alternative communication methods
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to enhance student participation and learning in subjects such as math and early childhood education
- Help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages independence and confidence
- Assist with behavioral management strategies and promote social-emotional development
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to monitor student progress and adapt support strategies as needed
- Maintain documentation of student activities and progress in accordance with school policies
Experience
- Prior classroom experience or background in teaching is preferred
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special education needs or disabilities
- Knowledge of American Sign Language is a plus, along with experience supporting communication development
- Familiarity with early childhood education principles and methods for supporting young learners
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and families
- Experience working in inclusive or diverse educational settings is advantageous
- A genuine passion for supporting student growth and fostering an inclusive learning environment

Pay: $15.00-$20.00 per hour
