Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Cake Decorator/Baker to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cake decorating, baking, and food preparation, with a keen eye for detail and creativity. Experience in the food industry, particularly in restaurant or bakery settings, is highly preferred. Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pastries, and baked goods according to recipes and quality standards
- Decorate cakes with intricate designs, fondant, icing, and other decorative elements to meet customer specifications
- Ensure all food handling and safety procedures are strictly followed to maintain hygiene standards
- Package finished products carefully for sale or delivery, ensuring presentation quality
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed to support overall kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with cake selections and answering questions about products
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production and delivery of baked goods
Requirements
- Proven experience in cake decorating and baking within a bakery, restaurant, or food service environment
- Strong skills in cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant work, and creative design
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety standards
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Experience with food handling procedures and maintaining cleanliness standards in the kitchen
- Familiarity with packaging baked goods for retail or event purposes
- Kitchen experience in the food industry is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail
Pay: $17.20-$18.00 per hour
