The Teddy Bear Pack is a small business based in Vancouver that provides pack hikes and sleepovers for doodles. Established in 2022, we have been growing steadily and now have 50+ clients who regularly join pack hikes and sleepovers. The Teddy Bear Pack team is 3 dog walkers, and we're looking for a 4th walker.
We understand it’s a privilege to care for people’s dogs. Rain or shine, we show up with enthusiasm and are ready to have a new adventure every day with the pack!
This is a permanent independent contractor role for an experienced professional. You will be responsible for providing exceptional care and exercise for doodles while ensuring their safety and happiness during off-leash pack hikes.
Our pack hikes are a fantastic way to work outdoors and enjoy the beautiful trails and beaches in Vancouver with a group of amazing dogs. Packs are 2-6 dogs based on your experience, and on-the-job training is provided. Previous experience as a dog walker or in the pet care industry is essential.
Hours & Schedule
Pack hikes occur 5 days a week, Monday-Friday, between 8am-4pm. Pack hikes are door-to-door and are 3-4 hours depending on group size. The routine is: Dog pickups -> Drive to hike location -> 90 min off-leash hike -> Dog drop offs
There is a lot of flexibility to create a regular schedule that suits you. We’re looking for a new team member who can commit to the same day and time most weeks.
Job skills:
- Polite and friendly attitude with dog parents
- Ability to manage multiple dogs with various strengths and temperaments
- Physically fit and able to walk 90 minutes at a time
- Able to connect with dogs and understand them
- Problem-solve and think on their feet
- Enjoy independent work
- Confident driver
- Stay calm under pressure and stay in control of the pack
- Respectful of the environment and other trail users
Requirements:
- Pet first aid certificate
- Your own vehicle with AC (that can comfortably fit 6 dogs)
- Valid driver's license
- Criminal record check
- Smartphone with a decent camera
- A love of the outdoors and an obsession with dogs!
Pay:
- Pay is on a tiered scale depending on experience and the number of dogs in your pack
- Earn up to $170 for 3-4 hours of work, walking 6 dogs at a time

Pay: $21.00-$42.00 per hour
Application question(s):
- Do you have a car and are you comfortable with it getting dirty and scratched? Car cleaning can be expensed; however, your car will inevitably be scratched and damaged by dogs.
- Are you comfortable walking dogs, regardless of the weather, in the rain, snow, and heat? Our hikes are rarely cancelled due to weather conditions.
- Do you have experience as a dog walker?
