Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our small mom and pop team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience working on all types of vehicles. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles. We specialize in Transmissions but are seeking someone with a firm knowledge of general automotive repair. Wages are paid hourly and are dependent on skill. We would accept an apprentice that's knowledgeable. We are currently working a 4 day 10hr per day work week Monday to Thursday. If you cant be committed to be at work for your shift this job is not for you.
Duties
- Conduct repairs on automotive systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized maintenance tools to complete repairs
- Follow safety protocols during all repair procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist with assembly, installation, or removal of mechanical parts or systems as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in automotive repair or as a mechanic with dealership or industrial background
- Mechanical knowledge of engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and schematics interpretation
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and maintenance tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or installations
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues accurately using technical manuals or schematics
- Excellent customer service skills for effective communication with clients regarding repairs and maintenance
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
