The challenges that await you
You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving the treatment pathways for sludge in order to valorize the municipal biosolids from the City of Laval's Water Resource Recovery Stations (StaRRE).
Taking into account the objectives of strategic planning and the priorities of the operational plan, you will act as a specialist in biosolids management, organic materials, and agro-environment. You will be able to analyze the operation of sludge treatment systems and ensure their monitoring. You will formulate recommendations and implement the necessary changes to increase their efficiency.
You will advise and support the organization by issuing recommendations aimed at ensuring the smooth running of activities and the sustainability of the biosolids valorization pathway. You will also participate in conducting studies and analyses in support of projects related to wastewater treatment or environmental projects.
The ideal profile for us
- Hold a bachelor's degree in bioresource engineering or agro-environmental engineering or any other relevant bachelor's degree for the position;
- Be a member of the Order of Agronomists of Quebec;
- Have six (6) years of relevant experience for the position, particularly in:
- Project management in the field of waste treatment (pre-project studies, needs assessment, design, site monitoring, and acceptance of deliverables), including managing professional and technical service mandates of the same nature;
- Management of fertilizing residual materials (FRM), particularly in recycling municipal biosolids (application of regulatory framework, drafting of agronomic and environmental regulatory documents, development of specifications and budget estimates).
- Have in-depth knowledge of policies, laws, regulations, standards, and references applicable to FRM and particularly the Code for the Management of Fertilizing Residual Materials;
- Have knowledge of greenhouse gas reduction;
- Experience in composting or organic material digestion (an asset);
- Ability to popularize scientific expertise and anticipate regulatory and environmental issues as well as technological advancements and keep abreast of them;
- Possess a driver's license and a car;
- Possess an ASP card (an asset).
