Service Coordinator – Western Canada

As we grow our footprint in British Columbia, we are seeking a dedicated Service Coordinator to be the operational heartbeat of our Nanaimo-based team.
In this essential role, you will manage the lifecycle of service projects, ensuring that our technical teams and our clients are perfectly synchronized. You aren't just an administrator; you are a key player in maintaining profitability, managing documentation, and delivering the high-quality service that defines the Smith and Long brand.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Documentation & Execution: Handle all documentation requirements vital to the successful execution of service projects and service calls.
- Project Tracking: Monitor the progress of jobs and assist the Project Manager in tracking project profitability and timelines.
- Client & Vendor Liaison: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and suppliers; proactively manage communications and escalate issues to the Project Manager when necessary.
- Financial Coordination: Create invoices and progress billing reports in a timely manner, ensuring any factors impacting collectability are identified and addressed.
- Operational Excellence: Respond to co-workers and customers with urgency, keeping all stakeholders updated on delivery dates and project status.
- Process Improvement: Actively look for opportunities to improve tasks within your role and throughout the company's internal processes.
- Team Support: Act as a cooperative team player, jumping in to provide additional support to the Western Canada team as we scale.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Industry Experience: At least one (1) year of relevant experience in a Trades Service role is required.
- Educational Background: A degree or diploma in Construction Project Management is highly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including mastery of Office Suites (Outlook, Word, and especially Excel).
- Coordination Mastery: Exceptional organization skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal errors.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional touch when dealing with customers and leadership.
- Detail-Oriented: A high attention to detail and a "never-let-it-drop" attitude toward following up on outstanding issues.
- Growth: Be a foundational member of our Western Canada expansion.
Salary & Benefits: The salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 Annually, commensurate with the candidate's knowledge and relevant experience.
