- Operate Horizontal Directional Drill Locator for installation of underground conduit and cable
- Ensures safety of utilities and other underground facilities
- Follows company safety rules
- Setup and cleanup of work site
- Operates construction equipment to company and manufacturer specifications
- Perform restoration work as needed
- Operates vehicles with trailers
- Performs maintenance on equipment and any minor repairs
Locator Responsibilities:
- Confirm bore path with drill operator or supervisor (including walking the bore path)
- Perform job site hazard assessment
- Ensures proper permits are obtained before construction or work begins
- Record the depth of the tool head as required
- Ensure the drill head is in a good position at the exit pit to connect the product
