Position Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Lethbridge landfill location for a seasonal General labor working in the waste industry. This role is seaonal and will run 3-4 months.
Position Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for all staff, managers, clients, and customers.
- Onsite and offsite litter retrieval
- Public Drop off operations
- Sort household hazardous waste and electronic waste
- Act as a site attendant
- Assist with baler operations
- Snow shoveling
- Help with minor maintenance tasks
- General housekeeping
- Assist with operating leachate and surface water pumping systems
- Assist with environmental and compliance monitoring
- Ensure the safety of co-workers and the public at all times
- Spotting and traffic control
- Other duties and projects may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Possession of a valid class 5 Operator’s license
- Flexibility and willingness to work simultaneously on a wide range of tasks and projects.
- Physical strength and dexterity
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Excellent customer service.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Operational experience would be an asset
- 1st Aid, WHMIS, Defensive Driving and Alberta Temporary Traffic Control certification will be an asset
- Perform data entry duties in the Company’s system
- Comply with administration and reporting requirements.
- Proven ability to work independently while being a team player.
