Position Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment
- Light duty repairs and maintenance as well as fire fighting equipment, pumps, etc
- Complete preventative maintenance inspections and services
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Repairs on diesel and gasoline-powered equipment
- Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Complete daily job hazard assessments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the shop
- Participate in occasional field repairs and after-hours call-outs when required
Qualifications
- 3rd or 4th Year Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagnostics
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Reliable, accountable, and professional
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
