Susa Creek School
Northland School Division is now inviting applications for the role of Probationary Principal at Susa Creek School for the 2026-2027 school year. The start date is August 31, 2026. The Kindergarten to Grade 8 school is located approximately 12 kilometers from Grande Cache, Alberta and 450 kilometers from Edmonton, Alberta. Major Responsibilities include:
- A passion for promoting educational success for Indigenous learners, especially in their language and culture. Fluency in language and experience in the culture would be an asset.
- Will work closely with the school council and the community to build relationships in order to create a positive, inviting school environment that is integrated into the life of the community.
- Will actively seek local partnerships to create innovative program opportunities to engage and challenge students and promote a sense of pride and accomplishment.
- Is a strong instructional leader who will work with staff to ensure that students have high quality learning experiences.
- Leads by example and is active in the life of the community.
Qualifications and Requirements include:
- Must hold or qualify for Alberta teaching certification and a Leadership Quality Standard certificate.
- Must hold a Master's degree or willingness to complete a Master's degree within a mutually agreed upon timeline.
- Has a minimum of 5 successful years of teaching experience in rural and/or Indigenous communities.
