Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a friendly demeanor, strong organizational skills, and familiarity with medical office operations. Prior experience with electronic medical records and office management systems is highly valued. The Medical Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations within our medical practice.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a welcoming environment
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
- Verify patient information and update electronic medical records accurately using systems such as Accuro and Oscar
- Assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting insurance information
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments efficiently
- Handle administrative duties such as data entry, filing, and maintaining patient records in compliance with privacy regulations
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure timely patient flow and effective communication
- Manage correspondence and perform general office duties to support daily operations
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area
Skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records systems
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare settings
- Experience as a medical receptionist within a medical office environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally and efficiently
- Office experience with administrative tasks including data entry, scheduling, and record keeping
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and workflows
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) is highly desirable
