We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Meat Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, with experience in food handling and preparation. This role involves assisting customers, managing meat products, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat products using proper butchery techniques
- Handle meat products safely, adhering to all food safety regulations and standards
- Package meat items accurately for display and sale, ensuring proper labeling and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, tools, and equipment in compliance with health guidelines
- Assist customers by answering questions about meat products, offering recommendations, and providing excellent service
- Restock and organize meat displays to ensure freshness and visual appeal
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
- Follow all safety protocols during food handling and processing activities
Skills
- Experience in the food industry, particularly in butchery or meat preparation preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Skilled in meat cutting, trimming, and packaging techniques
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist customers professionally and courteously
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Kitchen experience or background in food preparation is a plus
- Good communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy loads as required
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
