Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipper/Receiver to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of goods in and out of our facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, and order fulfillment, with a strong focus on safety and accuracy. Successful candidate must have computer knowledge as a component of this position will be office/computer work.
Responsibilities
- Manage inbound shipments from vendors
- Track vendor order progress and ETAs
- Organize deliveries with vendors to align with project schedules
- Optimize freight loads by maximizing volume and coordinating with brokers to leverage multi-vendor routes
- Plan freight loads to minimize cross docking and avoid possible damages.
- Oversee receipt of inbound shipments:
- Check shipments for completeness and condition of the material
- Monitor and track back orders as well as outstanding/missing items
- Coordinate with vendors for mistakes, damages, missing items, replacements & claims as needed
- Warehouse inventory
- Manage material in the warehouse
- Assist in management of our inventory system.
- Coordinate outbound shipments
- Pack and coordinate shipment of materials from Alumitech to sites / clients
- Prepare associated shipping documents
- Maintain record of shipped material
- Requirements
- Previous experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or distribution is preferred
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts and reach trucks preferred
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and order processing
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 60 pounds) repeatedly throughout the shift
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures and protocols
- Valid driver license with clean driving record
- Proficient communication in English required (reading, writing, speaking), French speaking an asset
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential for this role
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 42.5 per week
