Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Order Picker to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately selecting and preparing products for shipment, ensuring efficient warehouse operations. This role requires familiarity with warehouse distribution processes, heavy equipment operation, and inventory management systems. The successful applicant will play a vital part in maintaining smooth shipping and receiving functions, supporting overall warehouse productivity.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently pick and pack orders using warehouse management systems to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and cranes to load and unload materials safely
- Load and unload shipments, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage
- Maintain organized storage areas by stacking and arranging inventory according to company standards
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment like forklifts and cranes, reporting any maintenance needs
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting, equipment operation, and construction-related tasks
- Support warehouse management in inventory counts and cycle counts as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related roles
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems for order picking and inventory control
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with construction or heavy equipment operation is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail during order picking processes
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a dynamic warehouse setting
- Prior experience with load & unload procedures and warehouse safety standards
