Summary
As part of the maintenance team the Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This role supports our operations on the night shift and requires strong technical expertise, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support for the manufacturing areas as well as the building (carry out repairs, both electrical and mechanical)
- Maintain work orders in the CMMS.
- Assist in the maintenance of the parts inventory system.
- Perform preventive maintenance and keep schedules on track; troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues using diagnostic tools.
- Troubleshoot and make repairs when equipment is not running smoothly.
- Attend safety meetings to address and follow up with any safety concerns as required.
- Select electrical components to replace old/obsolete parts to maintain technological life of machines.
- Draw and (or) edit electrical wiring diagrams to maintain ‘As Built’ status of machines.
- Maintains a healthy and safe working environment by adhering to Health and Safety policies and procedures including, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), wearing appropriate clothing to prevent injury, using safe lifting techniques, and organizing an ergonomic work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to demonstrate depth of knowledge and skill as an Electrician or Dual Ticket Millwright
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and digital drives in both troubleshooting and programming
- Industrial Electrician (442A) required; additional Instrumentation and Control Technician (447A) a plus
- Understanding of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Plans work and carries out tasks without detailed instructions
- Responds to situations as they arise with minimal supervision
- Makes sound decisions; uses logic to reach solutions
- Maintains high standards of quality despite pressing deadlines
- Strong communication skills in both written and verbal
- Works proactively to deal with minor issues before it becomes a serious matter
- Basic understanding of manufacturing databases and all MS Office products, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Pay: $32.50-$42.00 per hour
