Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the shawarma grill, rotisserie, and other cooking equipment safely and efficiently.
- Grill and prepare meats (such as chicken and beef) according to restaurant standards, including marinating and seasoning to recipe specifications.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food safety and consistent quality, following Ontario food handler guidance.
- Assemble shawarma wraps, plates, and side orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary grill station, following food safety and hygiene guidelines and local public health expectations.
- Assist with kitchen prep, restocking, and basic inventory (cutting vegetables, sauces, packaging, etc.).
- Support coworkers during busy periods to keep service running smoothly and orders on time.
- Communicate clearly with team members and management regarding orders, shortages, and any equipment issues.
Qualifications:
- Food Handler, FoodSafe, SafeCheck or equivalent food safety certification preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lb as needed.
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and food safety.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts (days, evenings, weekends).
Work location and commuting
- Work location: In person at Shawarma Alley, Orangeville, ON.
- Must be able to reliably commute to the location or plan to relocate before starting work; preference may be given to local candidates.
