We are seeking a high‑performing Technical Account Executive to drive revenue growth for our portfolio of advanced mechanical/electrical engineering simulation software, specialized technical training, and professional engineering services. This role blends technical credibility with strategic sales execution. You will engage engineering leaders, R&D teams, and executives to understand their challenges and demonstrate how our solutions accelerate innovation, reduce development costs, and improve product performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospecting & Lead Generation — Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within target industries using a mix of outbound outreach, networking, and market intelligence.
- Solution Selling — Conduct discovery sessions to understand customer engineering workflows, simulation needs, and business drivers. Translate these into tailored solution proposals.
- Product Demonstrations — Collaborate with application engineers to deliver compelling demos, proof‑of‑concepts, and technical presentations that highlight software capabilities and ROI.
- Account Management — Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including engineering managers, simulation specialists, procurement teams, and executives.
- Sales Cycle Ownership — Manage the full sales process from initial contact to contract negotiation and close, including pricing discussions and proposal development.
- Collaboration with Technical Teams — Work closely with engineering, training, and consulting teams to scope services, estimate project timelines, and ensure successful delivery.
- Market Intelligence — Track industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to position our solutions effectively.
- Pipeline & Forecasting — Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and activity reports to support business planning.
Required Qualifications
- Proven success in B2B technical sales, ideally in engineering software (CAE, CAD, PLM, simulation tools) or related high‑tech fields.
- Strong understanding of the role of simulation in the engineering workflows (FEA, CFD, multiphysics), or product development processes.
- Experience managing long, consultative sales cycles with enterprise or mid‑market customers.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and structured sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC, Challenger, SPIN).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, Physics), or a related technical field, or, a Bachelor’s degree in Business with strong technical aptitude and history.
- Experience selling simulation software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL, Altair, or similar platforms.
- Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to both engineers and non‑technical decision‑makers.
- Familiarity with engineering consulting, technical training programs, or professional services scoping.
- Existing network within industries such as automotive, aerospace, energy, industrial equipment, or advanced manufacturing.
