thePeopleStack is a Victoria-based HR technology consultancy specializing in Rippling HRIS implementation, fractional HR services, consulting, and managed services for clients across North America and Europe. As we expand into European markets, we are seeking a General Manager to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the administrative services and operational functions of the company.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the delivery of administrative services across the company, including human resources, finance, procurement, records management, and client services
- Direct and advise staff engaged in delivering fractional HR advisory, Rippling HRIS implementation, and other client-facing administrative services
- Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures aligned with Canadian employment standards and European market requirements
- Plan, administer and control budgets for contracts, staffing, and supplies
- Direct and control corporate governance and regulatory compliance procedures
- Interview, hire, and oversee the training of staff and contractors
- Prepare reports and briefs for the board and shareholders evaluating profitability
- Develop and execute strategic plans to expand the company's consulting footprint into European markets
- Lead client acquisition and relationship management for European-based clients seeking Rippling HRIS implementation and fractional HR services
- Negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and service providers
- Serve as primary liaison for international clients in English and French
- Conduct research to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of operational policies and programs
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, European Studies, or related field
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in general management, operations, or administrative services roles
- Experience managing or operating a business (financial oversight, staff management, day-to-day operations)
- Experience in HR technology, HR consulting, or business services sector (preferred)
- Experience with HRIS platforms such as Rippling or comparable (asset)
- Experience working in or with European business markets (asset)
Languages:
- English: Professional fluency (required)
- French: Professional fluency (required, needed for ongoing client service delivery)
- German, Dutch, or Spanish: Working knowledge (strong asset)
Skills:
- Strong intercultural communication skills across North American and European business environments and teams
- Entrepreneurial mindset with end-to-end business operations experience
- Proficiency in administrative service delivery, employment standards, and people management
- Experience in localization and multilingual content management is an asset
