Family Program Facilitator
The Family Facilitator will work within the RFJS programming team. In this role, accountability focuses on building capacity of individuals, families and the community by supporting well-being and resiliency of individuals and families accessing or potentially accessing the family court system through divorce, separation, Child Welfare and Domestic Violence. The Family Facilitator is a full-time (35 hours per week) position reporting directly to the RFJS Team Lead. The facilitator will be responsible for being responsive to the needs of individuals, families and the community.
Areas of Responsibilities.
· Facilitate programs, sessions, and workshops.
· Plan, develop, organize and facilitate family programming and/or community workshops.
· Offer programming like Active Parenting after divorce and Separation, Circle of Security, Decision Skills, and other topics that could include conflict resolution, brain science and well-being and resiliency.
· Create a safe and inclusive atmosphere where all participants feel valued and encouraged to express themselves.
· Collaborate or partner with other potential workshops and educational opportunities to bring to families and community.
· Work alone, and with other staff members, and community volunteers.
· Educate and empower individuals and families through programs aimed at enhancing personal development and decision-making skills.
· Engage with community in group settings to provide guidance, support, and skill building.
· Collaborate with community resources to provide additional support and opportunities for individuals, families and community.
· Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress to track outcomes of programming.
· Act as a positive role model by demonstrating integrity, empathy, and effective communication skills.
· Attend training and have a good understanding of the curriculum that may be used.
· Ensure program materials are prepared, used, and returned in a timely fashion, including surveys/feedback forms.
· Be able to accommodate a flexibly work schedule.
· Assist in projects that further the vision and mission of GPFES
· Adhere to all GPFES policies and procedures.
· Actively promote GPFES services, and all programs being run to the community. Qualification Required:
· Diploma or degree in Human services, Social Work or Minimum of 3 years experience working with families
·Facilitation skills
· Ability to establish a trusting relationship quickly with individuals
· Respect for the diversity of cultural difference and beliefs
· Work from a strength-based, trauma informed approach
· Knowledge of community resources
· Proficiency in Microsoft office
· Experience working with spreadsheets and data bases
· Experience with outcome reporting is an asset
· Excellent interpersonal skills, communication and written skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Proven organizational ability with the capability to multi-task
· Ability to handle change and transition in a fast-past environment
· Knowledge of the non-profit/charitable sector is an asset
· A valid driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle
· Satisfactory background screening, including a criminal record/police information check and child welfare check.
Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
