About the Role
We are expanding our wholesale food section and are looking for a reliable, hard-working Kitchen Production Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be a key part of our daily food production line—helping to prep ingredients, assemble and seal pizzas for our frozen section, and ensure the kitchen is kept to the highest standards of cleanliness.
While we are entirely willing to train the right person on our specific methods and equipment, previous commercial kitchen experience is highly preferred. If you already know your way around a kitchen and want a structured, production-focused role, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Food Prep & Assembly: Assist with daily kitchen prep work and assemble food items according to our recipes and quality standards.
- Pizza Production & Sealing: Help prepare, stretch/shape, and top pizzas, and operate sealing equipment to package them perfectly for our frozen section.
- End-of-Day Cleanup: Take pride in a clean workspace by executing end-of-day kitchen teardown, washing dishes/equipment, sanitizing surfaces, and sweeping/mopping so the kitchen is ready for the next morning.
- Food Safety: Maintain a safe, hygienic workstation by adhering to all food safety and handling regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Kitchen Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant, commercial kitchen, or food production environment is a big advantage. You should already understand basic kitchen pace, safety, and knife skills.
- Coachability: A positive attitude and a willingness to learn our specific production and sealing processes.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive assembly tasks (like prepping and topping), and handle the physical demands of end-of-day kitchen cleaning.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring pizzas are sealed properly for maximum freshness and that cleanup is thorough.
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and ready to work as part of a tight-knit team.
What We Offer
- Compensation: Minimum wage to start ($17.60/hr, scheduled to increase to $17.95/hr on October 1, 2026, per provincial guidelines).
- Training: Comprehensive training on our specialized sealing equipment and production processes.
- Stability: A stable, consistent schedule (no chaotic, unpredictable restaurant hours).
- Growth: A supportive team environment with room to grow as our wholesale business expands.
Pay: $17.60 per hour
