Security Programs Manager
We are seeking a Security Programs Manager (SPM) for a Provincial Government Crown Corporation overseeing a Critical Infrastructure Security Program. This position plays a critical role in the ongoing partnership with our client and will support the expansion of an energy distribution project. The SPM will liaise between the client and cross-functional internal teams and manage the security staff working within the portfolio. This role requires strong leadership, operational planning, and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities Overview:
Operations Management
-
Oversee day-to-day security operations for all transmission line project sites, laydown yards, camps, and access points.

Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.

Ensures all sites have up to date and complete Site Orders both in hard copy on site and in digital copy on the network server.

Remains on-call to act as an after-hours resource for emergencies.
Team Management

Ensures that all services provided by staff assigned within the portfolio are consistently delivered in accordance with the client’s wishes and best interests.

Supervise, mentor, and support staff and issue necessary disciplinary action, re-assignment, and dismissal

Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of security personnel.
Occupational Health & Safety and Investigation

Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, occupational health and safety regulations, and applicable legislation.

Conducts risk assessments and provide recommendations for security and safety improvements upgrades.

Conduct Occupational Health & Safety investigations as required

Monitors Incident Reports and takes appropriate action on the reports that are related to sites
Account Management

Prepare operational reports, KPI tracking, and client updates.

Ensures that the vision, strategic mission, and security management plan are executed through Paladin’s delivery systems.

Responds to communications from clients in a timely manner.

Perform other duties as assigned based on the business and operational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills and Abilities

Proven knowledge and experience in security, business, and financial reporting.

Ability to pass contractual background checks and required training / orientation.

Excellent situational awareness skills (business and security).

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Ability to lead, plan, organize, delegate and problem solve.

Proven ability to effectively supervise and manage people.

Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, including delivering presentations to groups.

Ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment.
Experience and Education
-
Experience reviewing written and digital reports from field staff

Experience performing investigations into security incidents and performance management issues

Experience with People & Culture Practices, including but not limited to interviewing, training, general staffing and deployment, performance management and succession planning

Experience overseeing, delivering and adjusting Training and Policies and Procedures as part of continuous improvement process

Experience with Occupational Health & Safety

Successful applicant must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity, preferably in a Security setting, or a combination of experience and relevant experience and education.

A minimum of a high school degree or equivalent

The successful applicant will be willing to join industry professional associations and have a desire to learn through professional certification processes.
