Shuswap Marina is searching for an experienced, trained, and qualified Marine Service Technician. A minimum 5 years experience in the field, working on inboard - outboard motors, as well as outboards and inboards is required. You must be hardworking, organized, diligent, and a good troubleshooter. You must be open to performing all tasks related to your job, including launching/hauling out boats, operating yard equipment to move the boats to the work area, and should be an experienced boat handler capable of maneouvering boats up to 30' in tight spaces. You will be responsible for reviewing workorders with the service manager, estimating time, and compiling parts lists for the completion of the work. You will be expected to provide maintenance schedules for our customers and perform preventative maintenance whenever possible. Current Mercruiser certification is necessary. Mercury, Yamaha, and Volvo Penta certifications will be very helpful. This is a seasonal position with a 4 month layoff every season. We do whatever we can to keep our crew on as long as possible, and bring you back as early as we can in the Spring. Over the winter there is lots to do around here as there are many ski hills, and a huge snowmobiling community, and many areas to explore that way. Responsibilities and Duties
Diagnose and repair most makes and models of marine engine including Mercruiser, Volvo, Mercury, Yamaha and inboards such as Indmar and Ilmor. Boats are from 15 - 30`.
Qualifications and Skills
Mercury, Mercruiser, Volvo, Yamaha certifications all helpful.
