Major's Contracting Ltd. is actively seeking qualified Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics to start immediately. This is a full time permanent position located primarily in Deer Lake, NL.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold a red seal certificate, Journey-person certificate or have extensive experience in heavy equipment mechanics.
Duties:
- Confer with the Maintenance Supervisor regarding all repairs and the extent of repairs required.
- Complete preventative maintenance inspections.
- Check or diagnose equipment to evaluate performance and to detect faults, breaks, or malfunctions.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that repairs have been completed to acceptable standards.
- Assist in maintaining service records.
- Changing hydraulic hoses, fuelling, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work.
Schedule: The maintenance facility operates on a 5 & 2 schedule in the shop and a 14 & 7 schedule in the field.
