This role requires close collaboration with physicians, technical staff, nursing, patients, supervisors, and management to ensure high-quality patient care. Description:
As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, you will perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. Your responsibilities include preparing the patient for examination, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, obtaining ultrasound images of diagnostic quality, and takes initial action to resolve abnormal findings. You will assist with diagnosis, clinical intervention and patient management all while ensuring a high level of patient care and safety. Your work may include assisting Radiologists and Cardiologists, Perinatologists and other medical staff with special procedures where required.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or completion of certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program. Active or eligible for registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Completion of a diploma from an accredited ultrasound program, or certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited general imaging program, is required. The successful candidate must demonstrate high-quality technical skills and a strong knowledge base. Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. The candidate must be able to maintain a positive, cooperative, and flexible attitude and consistently demonstrate tact, courtesy, and empathy when interacting with patients and families. The successful applicant must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team across a wide range of clinical and educational settings. Proficiency in verbal and written communication is required, along with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and make sound decisions. The candidate must also be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a hospital setting is preferred. Certification in both cardiac and general ultrasound (CRGS and CRCS or equivalent) is also preferred. Connect Care, Provincial Enterprise Imaging (PEI) and ISCV knowledge or proficiency an asset. Previous experience precepting ultrasound students is considered an asset.
