Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting store operations, driving sales, and ensuring excellent customer service. Duties
- Assist in overseeing daily store operations to ensure smooth functioning and adherence to company policies
- Support sales initiatives through effective merchandising, pricing strategies, and promotional activities
- Manage and supervise staff, including recruiting, training, and developing team members to meet performance standards
- Handle payroll processing, cash handling, and bookkeeping tasks accurately and efficiently
- Maintain inventory levels through purchasing and stock management; utilize POS systems for transactions and reporting
- Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining positive store atmosphere
- Lead marketing efforts to attract new customers and retain existing clientele
- Conduct interviews and participate in hiring decisions to build a strong team
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales targets
- Manage store budgets, control expenses, and optimize operational efficiency
- Provide leadership in training & development initiatives to enhance team skills and knowledge
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles with strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
- Proficiency in POS systems, merchandising, pricing, and sales management tools
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with recruiting, interviewing, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and budgeting
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, handle customer service issues, and lead teams toward common goals
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and promotional planning within retail settings
- Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and customers; proficient in math for sales analysis and pricing calculations
- Exceptional phone etiquette, administrative experience, and attention to detail are highly desirable
