Overview
This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of our kitchen.
The ideal candidate will have experience in cleaning and dishwashing. They will know how to wash, peel, and chop vegetables. They will have knowledge about food handling, and basic food prep tasks. This position offers opportunity to gain restaurant experience and develop culinary skills.
Responsibilities
- Dishwashing
- Sanitizing surfaces & equipment
- Sanitizing carts, tote bins and cooler bags
- Sweeping and mopping floor
- Folding clean cloths and towels
- Weighing, packaging, & labelling meals
- Checking temperatures of the coolers
- Unloading supplies & groceries and putting them away
- Assisting in basic cooking tasks
- Taking inventory to ensure the kitchen is stocked with necessary supplies and ingredients
Requirements
- Ability to wash, peel and chop vegetables safely is a definite must
- Previous experience in commercial kitchen environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety procedures, and hygiene standards is preferred
- Ability to keep your workstation clean and tidy
- Reliable at ensuring food is refrigerated as soon as possible
- Reliable at checking expiration dates
- Attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to transition to a new task or change in plan when asked
- Able to communicate needs, questions, concerns
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.65 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
