ABOUT THE ROLE
The Licensing Agent, External is responsible for generating, developing, and closing sales opportunities within General Licensing and Concert Licensing through outbound and inbound telephone calls, emails, and regular mail. The role works toward established sales targets while ensuring that music users obtain the appropriate licences and that related fees are collected promptly. A high degree of organization is required to manage and document sales activities in accordance with established guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate and qualify new and existing leads related to the licensing of public music use.
- Contact leads primarily by telephone and email to ensure that music users obtain the appropriate licence or licences and that applicable licensing fees are collected promptly.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with prospective customers to increase awareness of licensing requirements and provide outstanding customer service.
- Educate businesses about applicable copyright and music-licensing requirements.
- Respond to incoming licensing inquiries received by telephone, email, and regular mail within the timelines established by the business unit.
- Accurately document all sales activities in accordance with established guidelines.
- Travel occasionally, as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Three to five years of experience in sales or marketing.
- Knowledge of the music, copyright, and licensing industries is considered a strong asset.
- Previous customer-service experience.
- Excellent telephone etiquette.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and internet-based tools.
- Excellent organizational, self-management, and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- French/English bilingualism strongly preferred.
