Our customers depend on our Bistro to provide exceptional beverages from espresso’s, latte’s and drip coffee to specialty teas. Beyond our top-notch drinks, our customers have come to recognize the quality and variety in our fresh pastries and desserts made from scratch right here at Commisso’s. In the role of Bistro Clerk, you will play an integral role in ensuring customers are served exceptional beverages and quality products.
Start: ASAP
Shifts: Days, afternoons, evenings, weekends and select holidays.
Job Type: Part-time and Full-time.
Compensation: $17.60 per hour, commensurate with experience.

What you’ll do:
- Greeting customers and answering questions in a friendly manner, proactively assisting and providing accurate and timely information, making product/ service recommendations and accommodating special requests;
- Maintaining the overall appearance of the department;
- Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks such as teas, iced drinks, specialty coffees like espressos, cappuccino, and café latte;
- Cash handling and managing inventory;
- Meeting or exceeding Company guidelines regarding hygiene, presentation and customer service at workstation;
- Taking ownership of duties and responsibilities performed throughout the department; and
- Complying with all Commisso’s policies and procedures and maintaining customer confidentiality.
This job is also referred to as: barista, baristo, coffee shop attendant, server, coffee specialist, clerk, bistro server
What you will need to succeed:
- Previous experience in a fast-paced work environment;
- Previous experience as a barista, serving coffee or specialty drink, or related food-handling role is considered an asset;
- Food safety certified an asset;
- Must be able to lift thirty (30) pounds; and
- Must be able to stand at workstations for extend periods of time.
