Role Overview
The Accounting Technician plays a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations by ensuring accurate, timely, and well-documented accounting activities. This position supports payroll, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, tax reporting, and period-end processes. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, discretion, and consistent attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Core responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Process and code invoices with accuracy and efficiency
- Prepare vendor payments through cheques and electronic methods
- Reconcile supplier accounts and corporate credit cards
Accounts Receivable:
- Prepare customer invoices and periodic statements
- Monitor and reconcile customer accounts
- Ensure receivables are recorded correctly and in a timely manner
Banking & Period-End Support
- Record and review daily banking activity
- Assist with month-end close, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support the preparation of accurate internal financial reports
Payroll Support
- Review employee time submissions for accuracy
- Enter payroll data and support payroll processing cycles
- Assist in maintaining compliance with applicable payroll regulations and company policies
Required Skills & Competencies
- Working knowledge of core accounting principles
- Practical experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- QuickBooks experience is required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, dependable, and professional in handling confidential information
Education & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience supporting multiple areas of the accounting cycle
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
