· Shift Cycle - 14 on, 7 off
· Daily Hours: 7:00am to 5:00pm.
Overtime may be required according to business needs. You will be eligible for overtime in accordance with Provincial Legislation.
Field HSE Coordinator
CBI Solar is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Field HSE Coordinator to join our team on the Turning Sun Solar Project located near Estevan, Saskatchewan.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the project team and ensuring all work activities are conducted safely and in compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable legislation. This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment and is passionate about promoting a strong safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture throughout the project.
- Conduct field inspections and observations to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
- Facilitate worker orientations and onboarding activities.
- Complete incident investigations and assist with corrective actions.
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings and weekly safety meetings.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with site-specific safety requirements.
- Maintain project HSE documentation, records, and statistics.
- Assist with hazard assessments, safe work procedures, and job safety analyses.
- Ensure workers are properly trained and equipped to perform tasks safely.
- Conduct and document inspections of equipment, tools, and work areas.
- Support emergency response preparedness and drills.
- Communicate effectively with site supervision, workers, and client representatives.
- Assist with WCB reporting and return-to-work processes as required.
- Perform additional duties related to health, safety, and environmental performance.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 2 years of HSE experience in construction, industrial, or energy projects.
- Strong understanding of provincial OHS legislation and industry best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and walk active construction sites.
Preferred
- Experience in utility-scale solar, industrial, or heavy civil construction.
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation.
- CRSP or working towards certification.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with contractor management systems and client HSE requirements.
