We are currently recruiting a Personal Support Worker to assist a female employer with Guillain-Barre Syndrome, in all activities of daily living.
She enjoys watching movies, going for drives in wheelchair in the fresh air and enjoying nature. She also likes visiting her horse (form of therapy)
Location:
- Maple Ridge (near Websters Corner Elementary)
Compensation:
Shifts:
- On call / Back-up Shifts
- Preference to caregivers that lives close to Maple Ridge
- Shifts: 8AM to 6PM
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to)
- All Personal Care including bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene
- Bi-pap support and ventilator care
- Ileostomy care (needs changed 4 to 6 times per day)
- Hoyer lift transfers/ standing frame
- Meal preparation, cutting up food and eating assistance (Now has dysphasia)
- Medication assistance
Qualification:
- Registered Health Care Aid required
- Experience in ostomy care
- Experience with Bi-pap support and ventilator support
- Must be up to date with vaccinations
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to work independently and as a team
- Good command of English, spoken and written
- Comfortable working in environment with dogs - border collie, Havanese poodle
- Able to stand, bend, squat, kneel and reach freely / physically fit
- Class 5 Drivers License with a vehicle required
- Must be a non-smoker
