Logistics Specialist / Buyer

Schedule: Monday to Friday, onsite
Pay Range: $26–$28 per hour, based on education, skills, and related experience

We are looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Specialist / Buyer to join our purchasing and supply chain team. This role is best suited for an early-to-mid career candidate with a university education in supply chain, logistics, business, commerce, operations, or a related field.
Related experience is an asset, but we are prepared to train the right person.
Responsibilities
- Create and track purchase orders.
- Request pricing, lead times, and product information from suppliers.
- Compare supplier quotes and support purchasing decisions.
- Follow up with suppliers on order status, delivery dates, and pricing.
- Review inventory reports to help identify reorder needs.
- Support inventory planning to reduce stockouts and excess inventory.
- Coordinate inbound shipments with suppliers, freight companies, trucking companies, and internal teams.
- Track shipment timelines, delivery schedules, and required documents.
- Follow up on supplier, packaging, quality, or shipping issues.
- Use Excel and system reports to review purchasing, supplier, logistics, and inventory data.
Qualifications
- University degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Commerce, Operations, or a related field.
- Strong computer skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Comfortable working with numbers, reports, suppliers, and order details.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Able to work onsite in Stittsville, Ontario, Monday to Friday.
Assets
- 1–3 years of related experience in purchasing, logistics, inventory, supply chain, retail, e-commerce, distribution, or warehouse operations.
- Co-op or internship experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or operations.
- Experience with purchase orders, suppliers, freight, inventory reports, ERP systems, or Excel tools such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
- Interest in automotive parts, e-commerce, or distribution.
