We are a well-established Mechanical and Electrical engineering firm with a strong presence in Northern Canada and offices across Western Canada. We deliver high-quality MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) design, consulting, and project leadership for commercial, institutional, industrial, and northern infrastructure projects. Our work includes challenging northern environments, energy-efficient systems, and sustainable building solutions.
We are currently seeking a Building Engineering Manager to join our Edmonton office. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing our Mechanical and Electrical regional leaders and ensuring technical excellence and project delivery across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to Regional Mechanical Leaders and Regional Electrical Leaders.
- Oversee the technical quality, standards, and innovation of all mechanical and electrical building engineering deliverables.
- Ensure projects meet client expectations, codes, schedules, and budgets.
- Support business development and client relationships in Alberta and across Western/Northern Canada.
- Drive collaboration between mechanical and electrical teams for integrated building systems design.
- Implement best practices in sustainable design, energy modeling, and northern-climate engineering solutions.
- Manage team performance, professional development, and resource allocation.
- Participate in senior leadership meetings and contribute to overall company strategy.
What You Bring:
- Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) in Alberta (or eligible for registration with other territorial and provincial associations).
- 15+ years of progressive experience in building mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams of engineers and technical staff (minimum 5+ years in a management or senior lead role).
- Strong background in commercial, institutional, or industrial building projects.
- Experience with northern or cold-climate engineering projects is a significant asset.
- Deep knowledge of relevant Canadian codes and standards (NBC, NECB, ASHRAE, CSA, etc.).
- Excellent communication, client management, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally within Western and Northern Canada.
