Position Summary
Professional and detail-oriented Appliance Technician responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and servicing residential kitchen and laundry appliances. The role requires strong technical skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently at client locations. The primary focus of this position is appliance repair and troubleshooting, with installation services performed as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential appliances, including refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, microwaves, washers, dryers, and hood fans
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and performance-related appliance issues
- Perform appliance installations, replacements, and upgrades when required
- Disconnect and remove old appliances when necessary
- Connect water lines, drainage systems, gas lines (where licensed), and electrical connections in accordance with safety standards
- Perform hinge reversals, panel installations, and appliance adjustments where applicable
- Test repaired and installed appliances to ensure proper functionality and performance
- Complete and submit required documentation (service reports, POI forms, job completion photos, and notes)
- Communicate with office staff regarding job status, parts requirements, pricing adjustments, and site conditions
- Identify and report site issues, including plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, or millwork concerns
- Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment, and company assets in good working condition
- Provide professional customer service during all client interactions
- Keep assigned jobs and customer records updated within the company CRM
Qualifications
- 2+ years of appliance repair experience preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
- Appliance installation experience is an asset
- Experience servicing high-end appliance brands (Sub-Zero/Wolf/Cove, Miele, Gaggenau, Thermador, JennAir, Dacor, Fisher & Paykel, Monogram, etc.) is preferred
- Gas license (G1 preferred; G2 is a strong asset) — not required; willingness to obtain is an asset
- Knowledge of residential electrical, plumbing, and gas appliance systems
- Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable using mobile apps and digital job management systems
- Willingness to learn new technologies and repair procedures
- Valid G Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Must have own vehicle or reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Working at Heights certification (asset)
- WHMIS certification (asset)

Compensation
Competitive piece-rate, commission-based, or per-job compensation.
