Major Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of the bank-wide RCM Program.
- Support independent Monitoring and Testing, Quality Assurance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the Bank’s policies & procedures.
- Assist in the maintenance and execution of the Banks Compliance Testing procedures.
- Assist with developing/updating policies and procedures based on updated regulatory requirements, and/or changed business processes, and monitor their implementation.
- Responsible for identifying and documenting issues, collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop action plans for issue resolution, ensure all issues are tracked and resolved in a timely manner.
- Coordinate Compliance related projects, follow up with internal/external stakeholders, track the progress, and ensure actions are taken in a timely and quality manner, as per project plan.
- Assist with reporting to other departments, Senior Management, the Parent Bank, and/or regulators, including preparing reports in Chinese, translation between English and Chinese.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of Compliance Training Plan, provide support on updating compliance training decks, training delivery and related administrative tasks.
- Maintain/update RC Module at the Bank’s Intranet; monitor RC mailbox, triage and track requests from other departments; coordinate the approval process of RC updates at the Bank’s website, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Business, Finance or Law.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a financial services environment with exposure to AML and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge and ongoing awareness of key legislative and regulatory requirements (FINTRAC, OSFI, FCAC, CDIC, OPC, etc.).
- Experience in Quality Assurance and /or Business Line Testing.
- A comprehensive understanding of Canadian regulatory compliance including AML/ATF
- Experience in maintaining policy and procedure.
- Able to prioritize and manage own workload in alignment with requirements.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team and throughout the organization.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills with a focus on problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Meticulous attention to detail and very strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong English, Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills.
- Proficient computer skills, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet, and an ability to learn.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- CAMS or other professional certification is considered an asset.
