Needed Immediately - Star West Petroleum Ltd. is looking for a driver to operate a tandem lube truck to transport and deliver bulk and packaged lubricants to customers. Drivers require Class 1 drivers' license as well as clean drivers abstract and will be required to work safely and efficiently, keep a daily drivers log as well as report any equipment issues. JOB DUTIES
- Equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and regulations
- Check vehicles and perform trip inspection on truck(s) before driving them to ensure that safety and roadworthiness of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
- Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety and transportation of dangerous goods.
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
- Record and maintain logs of working hours, vehicle servicing and repair status and other required documentation including driver logbook, bills of lading, etc.
- Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in written form
- Assist in loading and unloading of trucks
- Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems
- Basic maintenance of the trucks overall service and wash when needed.
- Complete and hand in all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Certification from recognized Truck Driving School
- Class 1 driver’s license with air brake endorsement
- Clean Drivers abstract
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
- Excellent organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
- Strong work ethic and high level of personal integrity
- High level of personal integrity
- Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Confident, consistent decisive personality
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
WORK CONDITIONS
- Will be required to work outdoors year-round
- Overtime as required
- Weekend work may be required
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
