Canada’s Island Garden Inc., commonly known for our FIGR, Piper’s Punch, and Riptides brands, is a proudly independent licensed producer based on Prince Edward Island who is looking to expand our internal sales team in Alberta (located in Calgary or Edmonton areas).
Overall Job Purpose:
The Field Operations Specialist will serve as a dedicated retail execution partner. In this field-based commercial role, you will work directly with our retail partners to support store-level performance through structured coverage, and merchandising excellence. You will help ensure our brands are executed in a way that supports retailer objectives, including staff confidence, strong shelf presentation, and a positive consumer experience.
This is a hardworking, hands-on, rolls-up-your-sleeves environment emphasizing a team-oriented and collaborative style. It will be key for the candidate to embrace change and see past obstacles with a focus on solutions in the context of a company undergoing rapid growth and ongoing functional integration.
Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Store Coverage & Execution
- Visit assigned retail locations on a regular schedule

Complete merchandising and compliance audits

Ensure products, promotions, and displays are set up correctly

Build and maintain strong relationships with store staff

Identify and report competitor activity and in-store issues

Resolve day-to-day store concerns and escalate recurring challenges

Record store visits, insights, and actions in the company CRM
Retail Education & Engagement
- Deliver in-store product training and education sessions

Support product launches and reinforce key selling points

Gather feedback from retail staff and share insights with the team

Answer product and service-related questions
Merchandising & Brand Activation
- Set up and maintain visual merchandising displays

Execute custom builds and support flagship store activations

Track and manage inventory of merchandising materials

Prepare and organize campaign assets

Identify and report replenishment needs
Events & Promotions

Support in-store pop-ups, launches, and events
-
Represent the brand in a professional and compliant manner

Ensure all event materials and setups meet brand standards
Additional Duties

Take on other tasks aligned with retail execution and business priorities as assigned
Qualifications:

1-3 years of experience in field sales, retail execution, merchandising, brand activation, or related commercial roles

Strong communication and presentation skills, with proven confidence engaging store managers and staff

Strong organization skills with the ability to follow structured coverage plans and execution standards

Comfortable working independently in a remote, field-based environment

Experience working with multi-banner or key account retail partners is an asset

Background in CPG, cannabis, beverage alcohol, or regulated retail environments is an asset

Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce or similar) is an asset

Experience with in-store merchandising or trade asset deployment is an asset

Must reside in and have valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned location of work

Must have the ability to provide a criminal record check that is clear of any charges that could be related or have a direct correlation to the position or company

Job Details:
Reports To: National Sales Manager
Salary: Starts at $45,000 annually depending on experience
Benefits: Group Health, Dental, and Vision benefits plan coverage upon start, Group RRSP/DPSP matching program after 3 months of employment.
