We are currently hiring for the position of:
SOCIAL MEDIA PRODUCER
Reporting to the Manager, Social Content, the Social Content Producer is responsible for content creation to support brand awareness and audience engagement for year-round priorities and the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.
The right candidate excels in on-the-spot thinking, has excellent verbal and written skills, strong community management skills, a deep passion for film, and is immersed in social media trends and pop culture with strong professional intuition to know when to jump on trending meme formats to create consistent, high-impact content.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop best-in-class social content across all social media channels (Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, Facebook, etc) as assigned by Social Media Content Manager to support year-round programming, Festival, and organizational initiatives to meet or exceed performance and audience growth KPIs.
Support in the copywriting and scheduling of corporate partnership content in the lead up and during the Festival.
Support the content team with social media coverage of Festival events including content capture and event photography, as assigned.
Support production of vertical videos (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts), film stills, quote cards, stacked images, Letterboxd lists, and more with a strong curatorial eye and attention to detail.
Assist other members of the team with proofreading, fact-checking and publishing content pieces across our social media channels.
Support other social media initiatives and projects as needed throughout the duration of the contract.
Proactively and reactively responding to audiences to steward online relationships, monitor brand sentiment, and grow online reputation.
Assist in the development of social assets using templates provided.
JOB GRADE & SALARY:
Job Grade 2
Job Grade Salary Range/Annually or Rate of pay 27/hour
Our salary ranges reflect the range of skills and experience required for the role. Typically, candidates new to the role are positioned up to the midpoint of the range, with progression through the range based on performance and development over time. The top of the salary band is for employees who consistently demonstrate high performance in their role.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Degree or diploma in film, advertising, communications or digital media is an asset (but not required).
Must have a love and curiosity around film, filmmaking and a strong understanding of the film industry.
A minimum of 1 years’ experience managing large social audiences and driving social performance.
