Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team.
Position Overview:
The Legal Assistant / Paralegal will provide legal and administrative support across multiple business divisions, including real estate, property management, construction and restoration operations. This role is responsible for coordinating legal files, preparing legal documentation, supporting litigation and claims matters, assisting with contract administration, and liaising with internal departments, external legal counsel and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, draft, revise and proofread legal correspondence, agreements, pleadings, court forms and other legal documentation.
- Assist with litigation, claims administration, contract administration and other legal matters across the organization.
- Coordinate the filing, service and delivery of legal documents with courts, tribunals, external legal counsel and other parties.
- Liaise with clients, tenants, contractors, consultants, insurers, government agencies and external legal counsel regarding legal and administrative matters.
- Maintain legal files, records and documentation, ensuring information is accurate, organized and up to date.
- Monitor legal deadlines, court dates, limitation periods and other critical milestones.
- Conduct legal, corporate and property-related searches and compile supporting documentation.
- Assist with the preparation and administration of contracts, settlement documents and other business-related legal documentation.
- Provide legal and administrative support to the executive team, including reports, special projects and day-to-day legal administration.
- Maintain confidentiality while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all legal records.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Legal Assistant Diploma, Paralegal Diploma or equivalent legal education.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal or in a similar legal support role.
- Experience supporting litigation, corporate, commercial, real estate, construction, insurance or property management matters is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of legal documentation, court procedures and legal file administration.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple files and competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of professionalism, discretion and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Outlook, Excel and Teams.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
