JOB SUMMARY
The Logistics Coordinator supports end-to-end transportation and distribution activities across the national network. This role helps coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, monitors service performance, resolves delivery exceptions, and partners with carriers, warehouses, and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, on-time, cost-effective movement of goods. The coordinator also helps maintain logistics data integrity, prepares reporting, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and track national shipments (LTL/FTL, parcel, intermodal, courier) to meet service and cost targets.
- Create, review, and maintain shipment documentation (BOLs, labels, packing lists, customs paperwork when applicable).
- Book loads with approved carriers; confirm pick-up/delivery appointments and communicate requirements to shipping/receiving sites.
- Monitor in-transit shipments using TMS/carrier portals; proactively manage delays, OS&D, and delivery exceptions.
- Coordinate returns, reverse logistics, and freight claims; gather supporting evidence and ensure timely submission and follow-up.
- Support inventory and warehouse teams with inbound scheduling, ASN accuracy, and dock/yard coordination as needed.
- Maintain master data and shipment records (rates, lanes, carrier performance, accessorial) to ensure billing accuracy.
- Reconcile freight invoices, validate accessorial charges, and escalate discrepancies for resolution.
- Identify and implement process improvements (standard work, checklists, automation) to improve service, compliance, and cost.
- Promote health and safety, security, and regulatory compliance across all logistics activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 2+ years of logistics, transportation, dispatch, or warehouse/ shipping (or equivalent experience)
- College diploma or degree in related field or equivalent work-related experience
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook)
- Experience using a Transportation Management System (TMS), ERP, and/or carrier portals (would be an asset)
