Position Summary
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Deckhands to join our team in both log and barge towing capacities. As a Deckhand, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our vessel. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and have a passion for maritime activities.
Duties
- Deckhand duties for towing logs and barges alike.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on deck and equipment to ensure everything is in good working order.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure environment for crew.
- Collaborate with other crew members to ensure safe, efficient operations and communication on board the vessel.
Skills
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Be physically capable of repetitively lifting and carrying in excess of 50lbs.
- Good communication skills to work well within a team environment.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Enroll in Marine Emergency Duties course within 3 months of hire.
Experience:
- Log / barge towing: 1 year (preferred)
Language:
- Fluent English (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
Compensation and Benefits
Employees are hired under the applicable Collective Agreement with the ILWU Local 400.

Typical schedules may include rotating shifts, weekends, and other hours as required by operations.
