EnviroCentre is an Ottawa-based environmental not-for-profit. We help people and communities reduce their environmental impact through practical programs and services. Our work focuses on home energy efficiency, sustainable transportation, waste and circular economy, and green infrastructure.
EnviroCentre Build provides green retrofit services to homeowners in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario. We also provide trades training and mentorship opportunities for adults facing employment barriers.
We are looking for an Installer to join our growing team and support residential retrofit projects. In this role, you will install insulation and air sealing measures that improve home comfort and energy efficiency. This position is a great opportunity for someone with experience in the retrofit construction sector or someone looking to develop their skills in this field.
The Installer position supports residential insulation and air sealing projects for homeowners across Ottawa and Eastern Ontario. Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, energy efficiency practices, and strong customer service skills are considered assets.
In this role, you will help complete projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while supporting homeowners and our community.
Reporting to the Lead Installer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Put insulation and air sealing materials in walls, attics, basements, and crawl spaces to help homes save energy.
- Get work areas ready, protect the homeowner’s property, and clean up after the job.
- Read work instructions and drawings to understand what needs to be done.
- Measure and cut materials to the right size using hand and power tools.
- Install insulation using the correct tools and methods.
- Put up vapour barriers and other materials to help protect the insulation.
- Help with simple tests, such as blower door tests, to check for air leaks.
- Follow all health and safety rules and wear the required safety equipment.
- Work closely with team members, homeowners, and supervisors, and share updates on the job.
- Help load and unload materials and take care of tools and equipment.
- Complete other tasks as needed.
Note: We do not use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support the screening and evaluation of applications for this position.
- High school diploma or an equal level of education.
- Experience in construction, insulation work, or a similar trade is helpful, but not required. We are happy to train the right person.
- Able to safely use hand tools, power tools, and ladders.
- Able to work indoors and outdoors in different weather and job site conditions.
- Physically able to lift, bend, crouch, and do hands-on work throughout the day.
- Pays attention to details and works well with others.
- Able to communicate clearly with team members and homeowners.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence.
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job.
- Experience driving large trucks is an asset.

- 35-hour work week and the ability to work flexible hours.
