Role Summary:
Our Southern Albertabranch is currently looking for a Security Technician Apprentice to join the teambased out of our Calgary office location. The main duties of this opportunity are to assist experienced Technicians with security, life safety, and related electrical work, including systems that are installed, serviced, inspected, or verified at our customer sites. We are looking for someone who has a genuine desire to learn, grow, and pursue a career in the security industry.
Job Responsibilities
Assist Technicians with all types of life safety work including alarm, installation, testing, confirming signal, and service work.
Be comfortable working with hand tools and have an interest in troubleshooting and programming electrical and life safety-related products.
Pulling wire, fishing wire through walls, drilling holes using power tools.
Assist with cleaning and basic maintenance of control panels, as time permits.
Assist Technicians with installation, service, repairs, and testing of security, and life safety products, as required.
Assist Technicians with work area clean-up and end-user training, as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
Must have technical aptitude and a strong willingness to learn.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be available for all hours of work, including overtime, evenings, and weekends, as required.
Must have a desire to pursue a career in or have a general interest in Security Technician and Life Safety Technician work.
Must have a valid provincial driver’s license.
Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work and/or customer job sites.
Ability to lift and carry heavy loads up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work at heights.
Preference will be given to applicants who have recent trades training, particularly in Electrical, Instrumentation, Security, IT knowledge (CAT6/internet protocol) or related technical programs.
